Commercial Photography (Your Business in Action)
Commercial Photography
How much does it cost?
Commercial photography is a broad genre, and every business will have different requirements, so it is impossible to give a standard price. Once we have had a chance to discuss your needs, a detailed quote will be provided.
Does my business really need unique images and in what way can we use them?
Yes, you could purchase generic stock images, but how will that make your business stand out? The first thing I think of when I see stock images on a website is that this company doesn’t care about their brand or their customers.
There are so many ways photography can help take your potential customers on a journey. Show them your people and what they do, your premises, case studies, amazing products, your values and anything else that makes your business unique!
Unique and personalised images of your business can be used in a multitude of ways where generic stock images can’t. To list a few:
Branding
On your website to give a much better user experience
Staff headshots (about pages and social profiles)
Social media
Marketing – print, brochures,
Online ads
Email newsletters
Video – social media and YouTube (yes – images combined with text can make great short informational videos)
How long does it take?
Well, that totally depends on your brief and how big your company is! Most small photography jobs can be completed in a few hours. Other larger jobs might take the whole day.
I try to minimise the impact on your day-to-day operations and staff.
Are we restricted to taking photos at our place of business?
Even though your business is the obvious place where photos can be taken, with a little creative thinking the possibilities of locations endless.
For instance: 'Day in the Life' photography of key personnel may require going on location, to showcase what they do and how they do it! Other possible ideas include client interactions in their home, attending events or maybe even at important project sites.
Headshot Photography
I hate being photographed.
Why? Have you had a bad experience with a photographer before? Do you not like something about yourself? I can’t promise that after working with me you will be photo bombing every selfie-takers scene but what I can say is that with a little bit of guidance from me your session will be fun and stress-free. The most common thing said to me after a headshot session is, “Oh! That was easy!”
What to wear
Ah, this is the most common question I get from my headshot clients. Really, this is totally up to you and how you want the final images to portray you; dependable, trustworthy, fun and energetic etc. After discussing your needs with you, I can make suggestions that will help you make the right choices.
Do you offer hair and makeup?
No, we do not offer hair and makeup. The studio is equipped with a bathroom and mirrors if you need to freshen up, retouch makeup or change clothes.
What if we have several staff that need headshots done?
For up to three staff members, I would recommend them coming to our studio located in Bentleigh East at a convenient time. To save costs they can be photographed at the same session.
For companies with more staff, I will be able to do staff headshots at your premises. A space would be required to install a small backdrop and lighting equipment.
Should I get location headshots or studio headshots?
Most of the headshots we do are either done in the studio or at your premises with a simple backdrop installed. In some cases, clients may prefer having an organic look to their images. For such instances headshots can be done outside or indoors using the design of your premises as a backdrop.
Remember though a headshot is all about getting a strong connection between you and your audience, hence why plain backdrops with no distractions usually work the best.
How are your sessions run?
In a very relaxed and fun manner.
After going over a few basic posing rules, I will photograph you based on your brief. Depending on the session you have booked, there will be time to change outfits and create new looks.
The results can be viewed instantly on the computer and we discuss what’s working and what’s not. At the end of the session, you get to select your favourite images.
Then I start editing them and, in most instances, your final images are ready in 24 hours.
When and how do I get my images?
Your final edited images will be usually ready in 24 hours. They will be supplied as high-resolution files ready to be downloaded.
How many photos do I need?
If you are after more images, then you may want to consider one of our Personal Branding sessions. These sessions are carefully planned out to maximise your time and variety of images. The basic package starts at 60 images. That may seem like a lot of images, but it’s perfect if your goal is to build your personal brand. It allows up to 3 months of unique daily social media posts. If you then add some of your own content and obligatory inspirational quotes (LOL) you are set for 6 months of stress-free social media posting. You can read more about it here.
Personal Brand Photography
There is a lot involved with our personal branding sessions, so it would be impossible to cover the many questions that you may have. Rest assured, I will answer all your questions and then some prior to your booking. I want to ensure that this is a right fit for you and your business.
A Summary of the Process
Here is a brief summary of the process.
After your initial enquiry, I will give you a call to answer any questions you may have and give you more information. If you decide to go ahead with a personal branding session, I will then send you some paperwork to make everything official.
We then start planning your session and this begins with a discovery questionnaire that you will need to fill in. We then meet either in person or phone/video to discuss and plan your session based on the information you have provided.
There will be several touch points before your session to finalise planning and logistics. These are necessary to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
I will always be by your side if needed to make suggestions on planning, locations, what to wear, props and any other issues or questions that may pop up.
The length of your session will depend on which package you chose. We then select your favourite images, either on the day or a few days later.
I then go about editing the final images ready for you to use across all your social platforms and website. The images are usually delivered electronically via a download link.
If you have chosen a recurring plan, then after your photo shoot, we book another session time approximately 3 months in advance and then start planning for that.
